FROM ASHES TO BEAUTY Phoenix Gardening Services, a member of the Our Town Community Co-op, challenged the people of Fochville to take hands in cleaning up overgrown vacant properties and communal areas.

The challenge was simple and easy enough for everyone to participate. At the same time, their initiative created work for a few locals, giving them the opportunity to be part of a community they can be proud of.

The challenge? - Donate R5 per bag to be filled and or black bags - Phoenix Garden Services pays the cleanup crew for every bag they fill, takes a photo and removes the rubble. - No time, no effort required from any of the town’s inhabitants. Beautifying our town one bag at a time.

At the time of writing this article, more than 800 bags have been filled. The challenge continues - How many bags can we fill in order to restore beauty to Our Town Fochville?
